Are my gadgets already covered?
Before you buy gadget insurance you should check if you’re already covered. Home contents insurance often covers personal possessions or accidental damage to gadgets. Your policy details should say if you’re covered or not.
Manufacturer warranties will pay for repairs or replacements if your gadget stops working. This could save you money if you’re not worried about accidental damage, theft or loss.

Do I need gadget insurance if I still have a valid warranty?
Gadget warranties only cover mechanical failure. You won’t be covered for accidental damage.

Is there an age limit on the gadgets I can insure?
Yes, your gadgets can’t be more than 3 years old at the start of your policy. Some insurers will only cover gadgets up to 1 year old.
Can I insure my second-hand gadgets?
You can insure second-hand gadgets if they’re less than 3 years old at the start of your policy. You’ll need to provide proof of purchase.
