Brightside car insurance policy details
As Brightside is a broker, the insurance policy you have will be with one of the insurers on its books. It provides cover for a wide-range of drivers including those who often face higher prices from mainstream insurers.
This includes drivers with modified or high-performance cars, those with previous claims or driving convictions, and drivers who haven’t lived in the UK since birth. You can also buy temporary car insurance, from 24 hours to 28 days, if you don’t need an annual policy.
It also offers a policy for young drivers who tend to pay the most money for car insurance because they are most at risk of having an accident and claiming on a policy. The insurance option for these drivers uses black-box technology. This monitors the way a car is being driven and if it is consistently driven well, the insurance premium of the driver could go down.
You can choose from comprehensive cover, third party, fire, and theft, or third-party only. The price will depend upon your own circumstances including your profession, address, age, and your car.
The level of cover you go for will affect the cost of your policy. If you need extra cover, you can add extras onto your policy, for an additional cost.
These include legal expenses, personal injury and death cover, key cover, excess protection, and breakdown cover from the RAC. You can also choose to pay for an add-on for a replacement car if your car is too damaged to drive or declared unworthy to be driven.
Most comprehensive policies will automatically include windscreen cover, a courtesy car, 90-day cover if you’re driving in Europe, and personal accident insurance. You’ll need to check the terms and conditions to find out the limits on cover for each section of the policy.
Brightside offers a selection of car insurance policies and types. Not all policies and types are available through our site, so the exact levels of cover and benefits may vary. Before buying car insurance, we recommend you check the cover and benefits included.
