Elephant car insurance policy details
Elephant sells the three typical levels of car insurance cover. These are:
Third-party: the lowest level of cover that is legal to have if you want to drive on UK roads. It covers damage or injury to other vehicles or people.
Third-party, fire and theft: does everything third party does, but will also cover your car if it’s stolen or damaged through fire.
Comprehensive car insurance: covers all of the above, plus any loss or damage to your car, plus injury to you or any of your passengers.
If you opt for comprehensive cover, you’ll also get access to a range of benefits, including:
Courtesy car: Elephant will provide a courtesy car while your vehicle is being repaired at one of the insurer’s approved garages.
Sports cover: the insurer will cover loss through theft or damage by fire or accident to sports equipment, up to a maximum of £300.
Personal injury cover: Elephant will pay up to £5,000 if you or your partner is seriously injured following an accident.
Stereo cover: Elephant offer unlimited cover for losses to audio, visual or electronic equipment. This cover is limited to manufacturer-fitted equipment.
Battery cover: accidental cover for damage to electric and hybrid batteries, as well as that caused by fire and theft, is provided as standard.
Charging equipment: fire, theft and accidental damage to electric or hybrid vehicles’ standard charging cable are covered.
Elephant offers a selection of car insurance policies and types. Not all policies and types are available through our site, so the exact levels of cover and benefits may vary. Before buying car insurance, we recommend you check the cover and benefits included.
