Vauxhall Omega car insurance

The Vauxhall Omega is an executive car built by Vauxhall between 1994 and 2003. Therefore it is only available to buy second-hand and even the newest models will be showing their age. Available as either a saloon or estate, the Omega is a big car and you could comfortably sit five adults inside.

The Omega is available with a wide range of engine options, ranging from the 2.0l GLS Estate to the 3.2l MV6 Saloon, meaning that the premium could vary, although it would generally sit under a high insurance group range.

As the Omega is no longer in production it might be more difficult to repair it if anything goes wrong. Our guide to repairing and buying used car parts could give you some help if you're planning on carrying out the repairs yourself.

The table below could help you get an idea of how much your premium could come to, by showing Omega's models, their engine size, typical insurance group range and tax bands.

An old Vauxhall, OMG

  • Production - 1994 - 2003
  • Assembly - Rüsselsheim, Germany
  • Class - Large executive car

The Omega is a large car first introduced by the German car manufacturer Opel back in 1986. The first generation was classed and marketed in Europe as Omega A, although it was marketed in the UK as the second generation Vauxhall Carlton.

It wasn't until 1994, when the second generation, the Omega B was introduced and marketed as the Vauxhall Omega. In 2003, the production of the Omega has ended without a successor.

The Vauxhall Omega turned out to be a successful car in the UK and it was used as a pursuit car for the UK police force.

Back in 2010, British Car Auctions (BCA) named the Vauxhall Omega V6 as an affordable future classic.
