How do I claim?

To be eligible to make a claim, you’ll need to purchase a car insurance policy through Confused.com and email BeatYourRenewal@confused.com with:

  • PDF copies (preferred format) of your renewal document and your previous year’s car insurance document. Both should include the policy schedule, and your renewal document should clearly state the renewal price and date.
  • a contact telephone number.
  • the summary/proposal form for the new policy you bought through Confused.com or list the details of the policy including:
    • the name of the insurance company
    • the date you bought the policy
    • your policy reference number
    • the final price excluding any additional extras

If your claim is successful, we’ll send you a cheque for the difference between your renewal and the insurance policy you bought through Confused.com. Plus £1!

What products are included within the offer?

Single annual car insurance is the only product included in the offer.

What is a like-for-like policy?

A like-for-like policy means that the policy you’ve bought through Confused.com must contain the same details as your previous policy. This includes but isn’t limited to:

  • Personal details
  • Details of any named drivers
  • Voluntary excess amount

What do you do with the information I send you?

All data will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and will not be used for any marketing purposes.

When does the offer end?

The offer expires at 00.01 on 15.02.18.

How long do I have to claim?

30 days from the day you bought your policy, not the date your cover begins.

What happens if I cancel my policy?

If you choose to cancel your policy within the cooling off period (usually 14 days), your claim will be invalid.

Terms and conditions

  1. This offer applies only to customers purchasing a single annual car insurance policy through www.confused.com during the promotional period. Any other product, including van, short term or multi-car insurance products are excluded.
  2. The offer starts on the 29th December 2017 and will end on the 15th February 2018 (the ‘promotional period’).
  3. Confused.com guarantees that the price you pay for a new policy purchased through www.confused.com during the promotional period will be cheaper than the renewal price offered by your current insurance provider, or we will refund the difference plus £1, subject to the following criteria:
    1. Your current car insurance policy must be due to renew between the 29th December 2017 and the 17th March 2018.
    2. Your new car insurance policy must be purchased through Confused.com during the promotional period and remain in force/active for at least 30 days with all payments up to date.
    3. The cheapest price is considered to be the lowest base annual premium offered on Confused.com’s price comparison service.
    4. On the day of its inception, the policy must be on a like-for-like basis, including any voluntary excess. You must be able to provide evidence of your renewal and new policy including your personal details, the vehicle and the level of cover.
    5. The offer applies only to the base annual premium for the car insurance policy.  Any additional costs, including optional extras or policy / instalment charges are excluded.
    6. The offer applies only to the original renewal price offered by your current insurer, and excludes any price discounts, offers or negotiated rates offered after the original renewal.
    7. This offer is not available if your current insurer declines to offer a renewal price for any reason, or Confused.com are unable to provide any prices via their online car insurance price comparison service.

    How to claim

  4. To claim under this offer, you must provide us with a copy of your previous insurance documents including the policy schedule and renewal notice, plus the policy summary/proposal form of the new car insurance policy purchased through Confused.com during the promotional period. Further information may be required.
  5. This information must be emailed to us at beatyourrenewal@confused.com within 30 days of your new policy starting. Do not send any paperwork via post.
  6. If your claim is validated, your premium difference plus £1 will be refunded to you via cheque, made payable to the policyholder only and issued to the address noted in the insurance policy.  We will issue the cheque within 90 days after receiving a valid claim.
  7. If you fail to provide adequate documentation or where the documentation does not meet the qualifying criteria, you will not be able to claim under this offer. Your policy will continue to be charged at the quoted rate and will be subject to standard charges and fees.
  8. Claims made where a more expensive policy has been selected other than the cheapest like-for-like policy available through Confused.com may be rejected.
  9. Other terms

  10. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer.
  11. We reserve the right to vary or withdraw this offer at any time.
  12. Confused.com reserve the right to refuse your claim at any time we suspect:
    1. Any abuse or attempted abuse of the offer
    2. Any breach or attempted breach of these terms
    3. Any breach or attempted breach of the general use of the Confused.com website terms and conditions
    4. Any activity which in our reasonable opinion constitute misuse or fraudulent activity towards the offer
  13. Confused.com accepts no liability or responsibility for claims lost, delayed or undelivered, nor any liability for technical errors or communication failures in networks and/or internet access.
