Saga Select travel insurance policy details
Saga offers annual and single trip travel insurance for both overseas and UK holidays, with no upper age limits. Here’s what’s included with Saga travel insurance:
Cancellation cover is offered up to £2,500 if you’re forced to cancel or cut your trip short. This includes cover for unused travel, accommodation and activities as well as any other pre-paid charges that you can’t recover.
Missed departure cover can be included on overseas holidays up to £1,000. This allows you to claim for extra accommodation and travel costs that become necessary to reach your destination.
This includes where you arrive at the final point of departure too late to board the ship, aircraft or train in which you're booked to travel on your outward journey or on the final part of your return journey.
Lost, stolen or damaged baggage is covered up to £1,750, with a £300 limit for single items and £500 for valuables. It includes cover for personal belongings, baggage or golf equipment during your trip.
Emergency medical treatment and associated expenses can be claimed up to £8 million on overseas trips and up to £2 million on UK trips. It also includes the cost of return travel should you be medically unfit to use your return ticket.
The Saga Select cover additionally provides you with up to £350 for emergency dental treatment to relieve pain.
Hospital benefit means you can claim £24 per day for a hospital stay during your trip abroad on Saga Select travel insurance, up to a limit of £1,000.
Covid-19 cover with Saga travel insurance covers you if:
- You have to cancel your trip due to a COVID-19 diagnosis within 14 days of departure or if the doctor says you’re too ill to travel due to COVID.
- You, a close relative or anyone you're staying or travelling with gets a positive coronavirus test and you have to cut short your trip.
- You need emergency medical treatment due to coronavirus while you’re away.
Personal accident cover means Saga Select travel insurance will pay a lump sum of up to £30,000 in the event of accident causing disability or death.
Personal money cover is included up to £500. This insures you for loss or theft of cash, travellers cheques, non-refundable pre-paid tickets, travel tickets, hotel vouchers, passport and driving licence during your trip.
Loss of passport is also covered. Saga travel insurance gives you up to £500 for accidental loss, theft or damage of your passport while you’re abroad.
End supplier failure insurance covers you for up to £1,500 should an end supplier of travel services that you’re using go bust.
Personal Liability cover gives you up to £2 million of cover should someone make a legal claim against you and you’re found to be liable.
Cruise cover is included in all Saga travel insurance policies as standard.
