NOW travel insurance policy details
NOW Travel Insurance offers annual, single trip and family travel insurance with three levels of cover:
Essential is NOW Travel Insurance’s most basic product.
Classic gives you NOW’s mid-range level of cover.
Premier is NOW Travel Insurance’s highest level of cover.
With NOW Travel Insurance single trip, annual and family travel insurance, you'll get:
Cancellation cover protects you if you’re forced to cancel or cut short/abandon your holiday.
However, you should check the cost of your trip against the cover levels for cancellation offered by NOW Travel Insurance policies. These can vary significantly, depending on which product you choose.
The annual multi-trip Premier product offers up to £5,000 of cover for cancellation or curtailment. The Premier single trip product offers £3000 of cover.
The cover level is £1,500 for both the Classic single trip and annual travel insurance policies. For Essential, the cover level is £1,000.
Medical expenses provides up to £10 million in emergency medical expenses cover, including repatriation, with Premier and Classic cover.
NOW’s Essential product offers a cover level of £5 million.
Emergency dental treatment insurance is also included up to £350 with Premier, or £250 and £150 with Classic and Essential respectively.
Hospital benefit is for if you have to stay in hospital during your holiday. You can claim up to £450 with Premier or £150 with Classic or Essential products.
Missed departure/connection means you can claim up to £1,500 for missed departure/connection with Premier cover. The limit is £500 with Classic or Essential cover.
Travel delay cover lets you claim £25 for each full 12-hour travel delay, to a maximum of £250 with Premier cover. Classic and Essential allow you to claim £10 for each 12-hour delay, up to a limit of £100.
Personal belongings can be claimed for up to £3,000 with Premier to cover your personal belongings and baggage. The claim limit is £2,000 with Classic and £1,000 with Essential.
Delayed baggage allows you to claim for each 12-hour period that your baggage is delayed. With Premier, you can claim £50 per 12-hour period, up to a maximum of £500. With Classic and Essential, the claim limit is £250.
Personal Money offers £500 of cover for personal money with Premier, including for the theft of cash or travellers cheques. With Classic and Essential, there’s £250 of personal money cover.
Passport and travel documents cover provides £500 of cover for your passport and travel documents with Premier travel insurance. You get £250 and £100 of cover for passport/travel documents if you take out Classic and Essential respectively.
Personal Accident offers a lump sum pay-out in the event of disability or death following an accident.
The Premier annual multi-trip travel insurance product gives you £30,000 for loss of limb/sight or permanent disability. The cover falls to £20,000 for Premier single-trip travel insurance policies.
Those aged 18-65 also qualify for £10,000 of death benefit with Premier travel insurance.
NOW Travel Insurance’s Classic product provides £10,000 of cover for loss of limb/sight or permanent disablement, plus £5,000 of death benefit cover for those aged 18-65.
With Essential, the cover level for these categories reduces to £5,000.
Personal Liability offers you £2 million of cover with Premier should someone make a legal claim against you and you’re found to be liable.
It includes injury to another person or damage to their property that you've caused. With Classic or Essential, you get £1 million of personal liability cover.
Legal expenses offers £25,000 of cover with Premier, £10,000 with Classic and £5,000 with Essential.
Pet Care provides up to £250 of cover with Premier for additional kennel or cattery fees if you’re hospitalised due to an accident or illness that is covered under your policy.
Scheduled airline failure provides up to £1,500 with NOW's Premier policy if your scheduled airline goes bankrupt before or after departure.
Catastrophe and travel disruption. Premier and Classic give you £1,500 of catastrophe and travel disruption cover for pre-booked accommodation. You get £1,000 of cover with Essential.
Excess costs are generally lower with Premier travel insurance. For example, if you make a claim for your baggage, the excess is £75 with Premier, £150 with Classic and £200 with Essential.
