- In these Terms and Conditions, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to Confused.com, a trading name of Inspop.com Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Registration No. 03857130) at Greyfriars House, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff, CF10 3AL. Inspop.com Limited is part of the ZPG Limited group of companies, comprising ZPG Limited and its subsidiaries (the “ZPG Companies”). We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and our firm reference number is 310635.
- This privacy policy will help you understand how we collect, use and protect your personal data through the Confused.com Alexa skill (the “Skill”).
- You are not required to submit or provide personal data to us when using the Skill. However, please be aware that your questions and commands are recorded and if they contain personal data (including sensitive personal data) this personal data will also be recorded. You acknowledge that by providing your personal data to us, you consent to its processing in the manners outlined below.
- You are responsible for ensuring any other users of the Skill have read this privacy policy and consent to us using their personal data in accordance with this privacy policy.
- The questions and commands that you choose to provide to us may be stored and used to improve our Skill. Where we are able to we will try to remove the personal data from this information except to the extent that this proves technically difficult or requires disproportionate effort.
- We will endeavour to treat your personal data as private and confidential.
- Retention. Your personal data will be kept for as long as we require it in order to provide improvements to the Skill. It will continue to be retained after the Skill has been closed or deleted.
- Disclosure. We would like to bring to your attention our obligations to disclose data in the following four exceptional cases permitted by law, and the other situations set out below. These are:
- Where we are legally compelled to do so
- Where there is a duty to the public to disclose
- Where disclosure is required to protect our interest
- Where disclosure is made at your request or with your consent
- Amazon may also record and/or process your personal data when using the Skill. Please refer to Amazon’s terms of use and privacy policy for more information regarding the collection and use of your personal data.
- Subject Access Request. In order to access the data we hold about you, you need to make a ‘Subject Access Request’, or SAR. To make a SAR please email us at:
- Your name, address, and date of birth and what information you would like.
- Identification documents; one which shows your name and signature (e.g. a copy of your passport) and one which shows your name and address (e.g. a copy of a recent bill or bank statement or other official document). We will accept just one identification document if it shows your name, address and signature such as a copy of your driving licence. (This is to take reasonable steps to confirm your identity before providing you with details of any personal information we may hold about you.)
- Please note that if your SAR involves the personal data of other people, or you are making a request on behalf of someone else (such as a parent on behalf of their child), we may need identification from these individuals, as well as a signed letter of authority from them confirming that they are happy for you to act on their behalf and for us to release their data to you.
- Once we have received your written request and identification documents, we will have 30 calendar days to fulfil your request. Where for some reason this will not be possible, for instance due to large volumes of data being involved, law permits us to take up to an additional 60 days to fulfil your request. Where any such delay is anticipated, we will inform of you this as soon as possible along with details of when we expect to be able to provide you with the requested documentation.
- Other Rights. Your other rights as a data subject, where applicable, include:
- The right to be informed about our processing of your personal data
- The right to have your personal data corrected if it is inaccurate, and to have incomplete personal data completed
- The right to object to the processing of your personal data
- The right to have your personal data erased (“right to be forgotten”)
- The right to move, copy, or transfer your personal data (“data portability”)
- Rights regarding automated decision making, including profiling
- Complaints. If you have any complaints relating to the processing of your personal data, you also have the right to complain to the relevant Supervisory Authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). They can be contacted at:
- We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy policy and you will be prompted of any changes on a welcome card when you next load the Alexa app.
- From time to time we may need to change the way we use your personal data. Where we believe you may not reasonably expect such a change we will notify you of the change to our privacy policy. When we do so, you will have 15 days to stop using the Skill or contact us at communications@confused.com to object to the change. If we do not hear from you within that time, you consent to that change.
