Churchill home insurance policy details
Churchill offers two types of home insurance cover: Home Insurance and Home Plus. Both forms of cover include buildings insurance and contents insurance, though Home Plus generally offers a higher level of cover and includes more benefits as standard.

Home insurance from Churchill usually includes:
- Buildings sum insured of £1m
- Up to £25,000 for alternative accommodation under the buildings cover or up to £15,000 under the contents insurance part of the policy
- Tracing and accessing leaks in the house cover to £5,000
- Property owners’ liability of £2m, covering you against claims for personal injury or property damage from third parties
- Contents sum insured of £50,000
- Up to £2,000 of cover for each item inside your home
- Cover for items temporarily taken out of the home, up to £5,000 in total. A single article limit of £2,000 applies
- Personal liability insurance of up to £2m
- Employer's liability to £5m
- Contents in the garden including plants and landscaping (cover limits apply)
- Loss or theft of house keys cover.
Home Plus from Churchill offers additional cover that includes:
- Unlimited buildings sum insured and up to £100,000 of contents insured
- Up to £50,000 for alternative accommodation under the buildings cover or up to £30,000 under the contents insurance part of the policy
- Tracing and accessing leaks in the house cover to £10,000
- Property owners’ liability cover of £5m
- Matching Sets and Suites for both buildings and contents – this means if an item in a matching set was damaged, your policy will cover the cost of replacing the whole set
- Accidental damage cover for buildings and contents, protecting you against the costs of repairing or replacing something that's been damaged or destroyed in an accident
- Cover for items temporarily taken out of the home to £10,000
- Personal liability insurance to £5m
- Employer's liability to £10m
- Personal possessions cover of £5,000 to protect your personal items when outside the home – including loss or theft of cash up to £1,000 and bicycle cover to £1,000. A single article limit of £4,000 applies
- Legal expenses cover to £100,000 and access to a 24-hour legal helpline
- Home Emergency cover of up to £500 per callout
- Cover for contents in the garden including plants and landscaping (cover limits apply)
- Loss or theft of house keys cover.
