You can add extra protection to your policy whenever it suits you. There’s no admin fee to make changes but it's likely your price will go up.
Here’s what you can add:
Buildings insurance
- Accidental damage cover - Covers damage caused by unforeseen accidents, like drilling through a pipe or smashing a window.
- Legal cover - Up to £100,000 to help with things like contract disputes, neighbour rows or employment issues, plus a 24/7 helpline.
- Home emergency cover - If something goes wrong at home, John Lewis will send out a tradesperson to make things safe with a temporary repair.
Contents insurance
- Accidental damage to contents - Covers accidents like wine stains on your carpet.
- Bicycle cover - Up to £15,000 for bikes at home or on the move (max £5,000 per bike). Covers electric bikes and mopeds too.
- Student cover - Up to £5,000 for family members living away while they’re studying.
- Gadget cover - Add £10,000 of extra cover for your tech (max £2,500 per item). Items over £200 need to be listed.
- Cyber cover - Up to £10,000 if you’re hit by online fraud, scams or viruses.
- Personal possessions cover - This will cover your stuff when you take it out with you - anywhere in the world.
