Paris: Did you know?
Paris has some of the most iconic landmarks on the planet – the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame , the Louvre, the Seine, even the Moulin Rouge. All are well recognised across the world.
French cuisine is renowned the world over and so it should come as no surprise that Paris has many excellent restaurants. A foody can spend many happy days wandering from café to restaurant, from meal to meal, and have fresh experience every time.
Paris Syndrome is a psychological disorder that affects some tourists of the city, most notably Japanese. Every year a handful of holidaymakers suffer a breakdown due to Paris not living up to expectations and the infamous rudeness of Parisians. It’s thought that Japanese tourists are most susceptible because Paris is marketed in Japan in an incredibly romantic way that is quite different to reality, and the rigid and formal rules of social interaction that exist in Japan simply do not in Paris. It is a culture shock that is just too great for some.
