Stephen’s background and expertise

Background:

Stephen had a background in catering and retail when he decided to carve a new career path for himself in the Financial Services industry. He embarked on this career journey in 2003, taking on a role at Admiral in the Underwriting team. During his 15 years at Admiral, Stephen offered Underwriting and Counter Fraud support across a number of areas, including car, van and home insurance. Stephen joined Confused.com in 2018 and has since then led the Counter Fraud team. In 2022 he also started working with the Compliance team, progressing his role to Senior Fraud and Compliance Manager. 

Stephen’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, in 2015 he received Highly Commended for Insurance Post’s Unsung Fraud Fighter of the Year. He was also crowned Confused.com’s Star of the Year in 2019 for his hard work and dedicated support across multiple teams. Another key achievement of his has been leading his team to launch an industry-wide fraud forum. This allows the team to work with competitors, partners and suppliers to tackle fraud across all verticals, protecting Confused.com’s genuine customers.
