What is Confused.com?
Confused.com was the first price comparison website in the UK. We compare a wide range of trusted household names for car insurance; home insurance; gas, electricity and other utilities for your home; holidays and travel insurance; pet insurance; caravan insurance; and money products such as credit cards, savings and life insurance. You can be confident that we’ll help you find a great deal. And the quotes we return you are not just estimates – the price you see will be the price you pay, guaranteed.
How Confused.com began
Before Confused.com came along, drivers had to obtain their car insurance through high street brokers, broker websites or directly through an insurer’s website. If you wanted to compare deals, it meant hours filling in forms just to retrieve quotes.
But in 2002, Confused.com launched the first online car insurance price comparison website, and in doing so spawned a market revolution. Confused.com flourished because it simplified the process of finding people great car insurance quotes.
Home insurance followed in 2005, and today Confused.com is the comparison site of choice for millions of online shoppers looking for all kinds of insurance - including car, home, travel, life, motorbike, van, pet and caravan to name just a few. Confused.com is also the place to find cheaper gas and electricity and great deals on a whole range of financial services, from credit cards to bank accounts and personal loans.
How Confused.com makes money
We get paid by the service provider every time you buy through Confused.com. It costs you nothing. You won’t pay more for buying through Confused.com – the prices we quote are the same as if you went to the insurance company direct. If you use Confused.com but then decide to buy over the phone instead of online, please remember to use the reference number we provide you. That way you won’t have to repeat your details and we get credit for the sale, which helps us stay in business so you can get cheaper insurance next year.
The Admiral Group
Confused.com is part of the Admiral Group. However, we are a completely separate business and pride ourselves on impartiality and independence. That means we do not favour Admiral products. All our quotes are ordered according to price, not affiliation.
The Admiral Group is now an international business that has expanded outside of the UK into foreign markets. Some of the groups brands include:
