Express Insurance Services policy details
The 3 different levels of cover Express Insurance offer their customers are:
Fully comprehensive covers death or injury to other people and damage to another person’s property up to a value of £20 million. It also covers claimant costs and expenses up to £5 million.
Also, the insurance provider covers you while riding another person’s motorbike, with their permission.
This gives you third-party cover when riding other motorbikes. So any injuries you sustain as a result of an accident aren't protected. Plus, the cover is only available when travelling on UK roads.
Comprehensive cover covers you for both your bike and its accessories, if lost or damaged through fire, theft or attempted theft. Damage from vandalism is also protected. The policy gives you a cash pay-out up to the bike’s market value or the agreed value of the bike and any accessories damaged or lost.
Third party, fire and theft policies cover everything you might find in a third party only policy. You also get cover for damages in case your motorbike is stolen or involved in a fire.
Third-party only is the most basic type of insurance policy that Express offers. It's also the minimum legal requirement for anyone who wants to ride their motorbike on UK roads.
Third party cover doesn't provide you with any protection against personal injury or costs incurred to repair your motorbike. But it does protect any third parties from legal or medical costs incurred from an incident that wasn’t their fault.
Express Insurance offers a selection of motorbike insurance policies. So the exact levels of cover and benefits of the policies offered when you get a quote may vary. Before buying motorbike insurance, we recommend that you check the cover and benefits included.
Express Insurance Services optional extras
Express Insurance Services offers their customers a range of optional extras that they can add to their motorbike insurance policy at an additional cost. These can include:
Helmet and leathers cover is underwritten by Ageas. It insures the loss or damage to items of clothing and apparel directly associated with motorcycle riding, including a motorbike helmet camera. There's an excess on any claim attached to this policy.
Personal accident cover covers the holder for death and a wide range of disabilities that would normally fall beyond the scope of standard policies. These include:
- Loss of limbs
- Loss of sight
- Loss of hearing
- Permanent total disablement
Excess protection is designed to ensure that any excess you may have been liable for is written off by the insurance provider. This optional extra, underwritten by a subsidiary of AXA, covers claims with a total value of up to £500 during any annual period.
Legal expenses cover is arranged by Motorplus and underwritten by UK General Insurance on behalf of the German insurance provider Great Lakes Insurance.
This cover pays out uninsured losses if you take legal action as a result of any road traffic accident. This includes damage to the bike and yourself.
Breakdown cover ensures the policy provider comes out to attempt a repair if your motorbike breaks down at your home or on the road. The mechanic should work on your bike for up to 1 hour free of charge.
However, you’re responsible for any costs relating to parts, fuel or other supplies involved in the repair. Likewise, any damage to the vehicle caused in the repair process is down to you.
