Express Insurance Services policy details
The three different levels of cover Express Insurance offer their customers are:
Fully comprehensive covers death or injury to other people, damage to another person’s property up to a value of £20 million, plus claimant costs and expenses, sundry and otherwise up to a maximum of £5 million. Additionally, the insurance provider will cover you while riding another person’s motorbike, with their permission on the same terms. In other words, it’s third-party cover, so any injuries you sustain as a result of an accident are not protected. Plus, the cover is only available when travelling on UK roads.
Should you opt for the comprehensive level of protection you’ll benefit from cover for both your bike and its accessories, if lost or damaged through fire, theft or attempted theft. Damage from vandalism is also protected, with a cash pay-out up to the bike’s market value or the agreed value of the bike and any accessories damaged or lost.
Third party, fire and theft policies cover everything you'll find in a third party only policy, plus damages in case your motorbike is stolen or involved in a fire.
Third-party only is the most basic type of insurance policy that Express offer. It's also the minimum legal requirement for anyone who wants to ride their motorbike on UK roads. Third party cover doesn't provide you with any protection against personal injury or costs incurred to repair your motorbike. However, it does protect any third parties from legal or medical costs incurred from an incident that wasn’t their fault.
Express insurance offer a selection of motorbike insurance policies, so the exact levels of cover and benefits of the policies offered when you get a quote may vary. Before buying motorbike insurance, we recommend that you check the cover and benefits included.
Express Insurance Services optional extras
Express Insurance Services offer their customers a range of optional extras that they can add to their motorbike insurance policy at an additional cost. These can include:
Helmet and leathers cover is underwritten by Ageas, and will insure the loss or damage to items of clothing and apparel directly associated with motorcycle riding, including a motorbike helmet camera. There is an excess on any claim attached to this policy.
Personal accident cover covers the holder for death and a wide range of disabilities that would normally fall beyond the scope of standard policies. These include loss of limbs, sight, hearing or permanent total disablement.
Excess protection is designed to ensure that any excess you may have been liable for is written off by the insurance provider. This optional extra, underwritten by a subsidiary of AXA, will cover claims with a total value of up to £500 during any annual period.
Legal expenses cover isarranged by Motorplus and underwritten by UK General Insurance on behalf of the German insurance provider Great Lakes Insurance. This cover will pay out uninsured losses if you take legal action as a result of any road traffic accident where the opponent is identified and the event took place within territorial limits. This includes damage to the bike and yourself.
Breakdown cover ensures the policy provider will come out to attempt a repair if your motorbike breaks down at your home or on the road. The mechanic will work on your bike for up to one hour free of charge, although you’ll be responsible for any costs relating to parts, fuel or other supplies involved in the repair. Likewise, any damage to the vehicle caused in the repair process is down to you.
