Swinton car insurance policy details
Swinton offers a range of car insurance, from comprehensive, third-party fire and theft to third-party only. Customers can then choose from three levels of comprehensive cover – Essentials, Classic and Premier.
With comprehensive Swinton car insurance policies, you’ll get additional benefits as standard, including:
Courtesy car while yours is being fixed by an approved repairer. With Premier cover, you can also get a hire car if yours is a total loss following an insured incident.
Windscreen cover for the cost of repairing/replacing a damaged windscreen or the windows of your car. This includes repairing scratches to the bodywork caused by the windscreen or windows being broken.
Replacement locks can cover you for replacing the key, ignition, door and boot locks if your keys are lost or stolen. Premier and Classic policies offer up to £750 of replacement locks cover. You get £300 with Essentials.
Personal belongings cover up to £200 for personal belongings, insuring you against loss or damage to personal belongings in your car.
Driver’s legal protection cover as standard with Premier and Classic policies. This insures you for up to £100,000 against legal costs arising from a car accident or motoring prosecution.
Uninsured driver cover with Premier or Classic car insurance. If you’re involved in an accident that's not your fault and the person who caused the accident is not insured, your no-claim bonus won't be affected. Any excess will be refunded.
Misfuelling cover comes with up to £2,500 of cover with Premier, offering protection if you accidentally fill your car with the wrong grade or fuel type.
Swinton offers a selection of car insurance policies and types. Not all policies and types are available through our site, so the exact levels of cover and benefits may vary. Before buying car insurance, we recommend you check the cover and benefits included.
Swinton optional extras
Protected no-claim bonus means you’ll be able to make a claim without having your no-claim bonus reduced. You’ll only lose your no-claim bonus if you make more than two claims within any five-year period.
Breakdown cover insures the costs of assistance and recovery if your car breaks down. There are four levels of breakdown cover to choose from:
- Breakdown
- UK breakdown
- Home and UK breakdown
- European breakdown
Breakdown is the most basic breakdown cover level. It offers roadside assistance anywhere in the UK if you’re more than a quarter of a mile away from your home. If your car can’t be fixed by the roadside, Swinton will take it to a garage within 20 miles of where you’ve broken down.
UK Breakdown protects you if your car can’t be fixed by the roadside or taken to its destination on the same day. Swinton will arrange for alternate accommodation or provide a hire car so you can complete your journey.
Home & UK breakdown offers the same benefits as UK breakdown. But Swinton will also provide assistance if you break down at home or within a quarter of a mile of your home.
European Breakdown cover offers the same features as the Home & UK Breakdown option. But it also covers you for trips in Europe of up to 30 days. If your car can’t be fixed before you return to the UK, Swinton will cover reasonable transport costs to get you, your passengers, and your car home.
