Energy supplier loyalty: Is it costing you money?

Some of the older among us may look wistfully back to a time when shops and service providers rewarded customers for their loyalty. ‘Becoz yer a regulah’, you might hear, as you saw a complimentary bunch of bananas slid in with your groceries. Is your car insurance as comprehensive as you think?

As much as we may not want to do it, renewing our car insurance is one of those yearly chores that all motorists share. What’s more, it can be a complicated business working out what level of cover you need. We all have to ask ourselves some common questions: ‘Do I really need a courtesy car? Flood Alert: Am I protected?

With huge storms tearing through Europe over the last week, the Environment Agency has put a number of areas in the UK on flood alert. Testing Britain’s need for speed

In November, the government laid out a raft of plans to improve Britain’s standing as a technological powerhouse (don’t laugh!) – all under the rather emphatic title of Digital Britain. Among these were a number of measures intended to improve Britain’s broadband infrastructure – bringing us to the dreaded 50p levy. Energy Price War: It’s coming!

Another day, another energy firm claims to beat the market. In line with our prediction earlier this month, the energy war is starting to hot up, and showing its battle hunger this week is First Utility – a plucky outsider looking to undercut the so-called ‘Big Six’. With a price cut on its Standard dual fuel tariff, the firm is claiming to now be cheaper across the board than British Gas. But before you all start rushing to switch, just take a moment, if you will, to view the bigger picture.
