Top Speed Limits Around Europe

 

The British government has recently announced plans to raise the speed limit on the country’s motorways from 70 mph to 80 mph (roughly 113 kph to 130 kph). But how does that compare to the rest of the continent? As it turns out, several other European countries already have similar limits—and some even exceed those. We take spin through average urban, rural, and motorway top speeds.

*Urban and rural speeds represent limits as reported by countries. Motorway speeds represent the maximum speeds allowed on motorways or expressways.
