School star ratings explained
School performance ratings are worked out using a five star system. The best schools are those that hit 95% or more for pupils who achieve a Level 4 or higher in reading, writing and mathematics at Key Stage 2 level.
1 and 2-star schools are those that are considered to be under performing according to Department for Education guidelines.
This tool currently displays information for primary schools in England and Wales only. Some independent schools may not be visible.
