A survey has revealed some of the more unusual excuses Britons have used to postpone or cancel a holiday.
While it is a no-brainer that someone would want to rearrange their holiday following the death of a friend or family member, some people have chosen to change their travel plans for far less serious reasons.
For example, online travel agency Sunshine revealed that a parent cancelled a family holiday to Turkey because their children had been particularly naughty in the proceeding weeks, while one woman cancelled her week in the sun as she no longer needed to sunbathe after developing a very impressive fake tan.
Another woman decided to abandon her beach holiday because she felt that she had not lost enough weight to look good in a bikini, while another cancelled a break because she did not want to miss episodes of Big Brother.
All of the above excuses are ludicrous at best, but none of them even come close to the man who got cold feet about a holiday in Spain after he dreamt that he became "too Spanish" after visiting the country.
Chris Brown, Sunshine.co.uk co-founder, said: "Normally, customers have genuine reasons for why they need to cancel their holiday or move the date of it, but from time to time we do get the occasional excuse which is slightly on the humorous side.
"We particularly liked the family who asked about cancelling due to their kids having misbehaved."
