Travel deals round-up

Picture of MajorcaYou can’t beat a good old beach holiday if the first quarter of the year has left you frazzled. Take a look at the latest bargains available right now.

Majorca

A popular holiday destination since the 1960s, Majorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and lies in the Mediterranean Sea off the south east coast of Spain.

The island enjoys typical Mediterranean weather with warm summers and mild winters and temperatures really begin hotting up towards the end of May, making it perfect for a spring getaway.

Algarve

Famous for its sprawling coastline, the Algarve, Portugal, offers amazing beaches– with Blue Flag awards to prove it. In less than three hours flying time, you can be soaking up the Portuguese sun.

The Mediterranean climate makes the region perfect for walking, cycling and surfing. It’s also famed for some of the world’s best golf courses in Vilamoura and lively nightlife in Albufeira.

And if you like seafood then the Algarve is a great place to find it thanks to the 200 kilometre coastline, which serves up fresh fish daily.

Fuerteventura

The second largest of the Canary Islands remains a firm favourite with British holidaymakers every year.

Visitors can expect miles of sandy beaches, blue seas perfect for watersports and lashings of warm sunshine with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year.

Turkey

Thanks to its rich history and sites of archaeological interest – including Ephesus, Pergamon and Troy – it’s the perfect spot for culture vultures.

There are also great family beaches, a warm and lively atmosphere, and a huge range of accommodation in resorts such as Gumbet, Marmaris and Kusadasi. Plus there’s great diving to be had, and being outside of the EU, means the pound there currently stretches a long way.

Oh, and did we mention that it’s really hot? Lovely.
