Barclays offer combined or stand alone buildings and contents insurance, plus you could get a 10% discount if you take both together. Buildings cover is up to £500,000 and contents up to £50,000, and their claims lines are open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. If you require an extended home contents policy to cover particular items such as in the garden or individual possessions then this is an option too as you can add extra cover to your home insurance policy. If you want to try to lower your quote even further then you can opt to increase your excess, and if you take their policy and cancel with another provider they will reimburse you up to £25 if you incur cancellation charges.
