As Monday morning rolled around, people across Britain were once again getting used to having one less hour of daylight as the end of British Summer Time fell upon us. And to make matters even worse, according to new research from Confused.com, one in five (20%) believe that this time of the year is the most depressing.
With nearly one in five (17%) Brits saying they need a pick me up at this time of year, Confused.com decided to help out by injecting a bit of fun into an otherwise gloomy Monday morning. Grabbing hundreds of space hoppers whilst bopping along to a classic feel-good track, hundreds of Brits created an eye-catching spectacle designed to put a smile on people’s faces.
Large crowds armed with space hoppers descended upon the Capital from miles around, with the bouncing blue inflatables spotted as far and wide as Abbey Road and Westminster Bridge. This self-styled ‘bounce mob’ then culminated by the iconic Tower Bridge - some commuters could even be seen commandeering an inflatable for the rest of their journey to the office.
Despite so many Brits waking up with a spring in their step on a cold, wet Monday morning, more than a fifth of Brits (22%) admit they find it more difficult to wake up in the morning after the clocks go back. In fact, the overwhelming majority say they use the extra hour to catch up on sleep (58%) while some brave souls (5%) choose to party for an extra hour.

It was brilliant to see so many people come down to #JumpOnIt by bouncing on the space hoppers we had. We hope we made the darker mornings just that bit brighter for all who got involved.”
