This means you save time because you don't have to give your details all over again and we get the credit for the sale, which helps us, stay in business for next year when you want to shop around for your insurance!


Basically you put in all the details that are needed to find you a quote - the length of the form depends on the product you are interested in (and I warn you now - car and home insurance are pretty lengthy) but at least you only have to fill it in once!
The average time for us to come back with your quotes during 2005 has been a shade under 5 minutes. You can watch the prices come in or go and do something else while you wait for us to finish and we’ll email you.


We take your details and go to all our insurance partner sites and complete their forms on your behalf. If they return a price then we bring that back for you, along with details of any special offers. Your quote is saved on our partner's site so you can retrieve it easily if you want to go ahead and accept. Our partners cover well over 100* UK car and home insurance providers (with coverage continually increasing as we add partners). The beauty is you only have to enter your details once, wait 30 seconds or so and then you can compare true like-for-like quotes. You're then free to choose the deal that suits you best, or remain with your current provider in the unlikely event that we haven?t found you a better deal.

*We go to 97 insurance providers directly. In addition, 55 of these providers have their own insurance partners, and your details will also be entered with them to return even more quotes.


Confused.com began life in early 2000 as a web directory that reviewed websites as well as providing a list of UK companies selling principally financial services online. In summer 2001 we switched track after our research with Internet users showed the frustration of having to trawl many sites to find the best deal. We launched our car insurance comparison service to the public in January 2003 and last year helped customers with over 1.2 million quotations! So far this year we have done over 1 million quotations for car insurance.


Although a sister company to EUI Limited we are a completely separate business and don't favour the EUI Limited brands over any other in the market. Admiral's car insurance prices are good for only a small segment of the total UK car driving population (intentionally so). But our customers have told us that they don't necessarily understand why prices vary between one company and another nor where they should go to get the best price. Let's face it, car insurance is generally a begrudged spend of our hard-earned cash - we spend it because we have to. With home insurance you will be amazed how much you can save by shopping around using our service.

These two facts combined into a vision, which predicts radical changes in the way people shop around for car insurance and other financial services products. Recognising this, EUI Limited felt that by creating a new company in which it has a financial interest and yet is freed up from the actual insurance company will ensure they still get income from selling and marketing insurance policies and financial services in this new future. With few exceptions, UK insurance companies now accept our service as a key part of their distribution strategy. Over a million customers can’t be wrong and insurance companies can’t afford to ignore us or our customers.
