About 10,000 holidaymakers who lost their money after the collapse of XL travel group last year have until today to claim their refunds.
Once the UK's third largest tour operator, XL went into administration in September 2008, leaving some 85,000 British holidaymakers stranded.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is issuing the refunds to those who missed out on package holidays after the firm's failure. Some payments had been delayed owing to incomplete claims, the CAA said.
The Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (Atol) scheme covered the overseas package tour passengers.
CAA's David Glover told the BBC: "They may have sent in what they believe to be the correct information but there may be information from travel agents which isn't complete. It is the CAA's intention to settle all valid claims as quickly as possible."
