Nissan's latest model NV200 has been honoured with the 2009 International Van of the Year (IVoY) award in recognition of its car-like exterior dimensions and large cargo capacity.
The small van, which has won top votes from a jury of 23 European journalists, is currently being rolled out to hit dealer showrooms.
The model, which should prove a popular choice and good news for van insurers, starts out in the UK with a price tag of £12,090 plus VAT.
The Japan-produced van has the lowest floor height in its sector and can stack 2 Euro pallets at the same time. The firm also claims that the model offers 25% more load volume than its rivals' average.
Nissan recently confirmed that after the pioneering Leaf, the NV200 will become the second all-electric model sold by the company.
The IVoY title was awarded by the Institute of Transport Management last month.
