Luxury car-maker Aston Martin has announced an alternative for those wanting a taste of the luxury and style normally associated with the brand but without the cost in the form of a new "baby" concept car aimed at everyday commuters.
The Cygnet concept is the result of a partnership with car giant Toyota and will be based on its successful iQ platform.
The Warwickshire-based firm said that the car will offer "a distinctive, intelligent and exclusive solution for urban travel in style and luxury".
Despite the firm`s reputation for high-powered grand tourers, Aston Martin chief executive Dr Ulrich Bez said: "Now is the right time for Aston Martin to take this first bold step to embark on this special project.
"Much work is still required, but I am confident that this project could become reality in the not-too-distant future."
Dr Bez said that the Cygnet could be offered as a combination with Aston`s more expensive and less eco-friendly DBS, DB9 or Vantage models.
