How many Nectar points will I receive?
For every new car, home, van, motorbike, pet, or income protection insurance policy you purchase through Confused.com, you will receive 1000 Nectar points.
For every new life insurance policy you purchase through Confused.com, you will receive 5,000 Nectar points.

I bought my policy during the double points promotional period, how do I make sure I still get DOUBLE points?
If you purchased your car, home, life, pet, van, bike or income protection insurance within the double points promotional period, we will automatically credit double points. There is nothing you need to do apart from submitting a claim form, following the "how to claim" steps below.

I thought you were offering double points- when did this stop?
The double points promotion was a limited offer that commenced on the 13th December and finished on the 9th April (inclusive). Only purchases made during this time period will be eligible for double points.

How do I claim my Nectar points?
After you’ve bought your insurance through Confused.com, just follow these simple steps:
- Come back to www.confused.com/nectar
- Sign in with the details you gave when you created your quote (email address and password).
- Complete the required details on our claim form (Nectar card number and policy information) and click submit.
We will send you an email to acknowledge receipt of your claim.
Please note that your insurance must be purchased through Confused.com and if you need to telephone your insurer to buy directly then you must let them know the policy has come from Confused.com.
As we have to wait for your new insurer to validate your insurance purchase is through Confused.com, it can take up to 90 days (or 120 days for a life insurance policy) to receive points. If you haven't received your points after this period, please contact us here and we will investigate for you. Please note: we are unable to investigate until 90 days have passed since you bought your policy.

How long have I got to claim my points?
You must complete the online claim form with your policy details and your valid Nectar card number within 60 days of purchasing your insurance.

Can I claim more than once?
Yes you can! You can make up to four claims for Nectar points per Nectar card within any rolling six month period. If you buy more than one policy, you will need to submit one Nectar claim form for each policy bought. Each separate purchase must be confirmed by your new insurance provider before we will allocate these points.

Can I use another person's Nectar card to claim points
The Nectar points will be sent to the Nectar card number entered on our claim form. For example, if you buy a policy and you don’t have a Nectar card, you can enter a friend’s Nectar card allowing them to receive the points instead, and vice-versa. Just make sure you enter the policy holder’s details on the claim form!

Do I get points for renewing my policy?
Only new car, home, life, van, motorbike and pet insurance purchases made through Confused.com will be eligible for Nectar points. If you renew your policy directly with your insurer then you won’t be able to claim Nectar points for this.

I have been declined points. Why is this?
There are a number of reasons why your claim may have been declined, the main ones being:
- The insurance provider you gave us cannot validate your purchase as coming from Confused.com This could be due to not clicking through to your insurer directly from Confused.com; buying your policy over the phone and not confirming that you have come through Confused.com; buying your policy directly through your insurer; buying your policy through a different comparison site.
- You have cancelled your insurance purchase since making a claim for Nectar points.
- You did not complete the purchase of your insurance policy.
- Your policy was purchased through Confused.com before we began offering Nectar points for the insurance product you bought.

If I cancel my policy, will I still get Nectar points?
If you cancel your insurance then your insurance provider will not be able to validate your purchase so you will not be able to claim Nectar points.

I had to call my insurer directly to buy, can I still claim points?
Yes, if you have completed a quote on Confused.com and you have to call your insurer directly by finding the number on our prices page, make sure you tell your insurer that the policy is from Confused.com and quote your Confused.com reference number. If this isn’t done then your insurer will not be able to confirm your purchase is through Confused.com and we will not be able to validate your claim for Nectar points.

I can't claim my points - I'm going in a loop - help!
If you are directed to your quotes page after signing into the Nectar claim form, you will just need to click the Confused.com icon at the top of the page, then select the ‘Claim my points’ link in the Nectar box. You should now be able to sign into the Nectar claim form without a problem.

What communication should I expect after claiming my points?
We will send you an automated email to acknowledge that we have received your claim for points (this should be sent immediately, however it could take a few hours at busy times). If you don’t receive an acknowledgement email, please check your junk or spam folder as the email could be directed there.
Your points should be awarded within 90 days of submitting your claim form, subject to your new insurance provider confirming your purchase of insurance via Confused.com (120 days for a life insurance purchase).
If, 90 days after submitting your claim form you have not received your points (120 days for a life insurance purchase), please contact us and we will look into it for you. Please note: we are unable to investigate until 90 days have passed since you bought your policy.

What if I can’t remember my log in details to get to the claim form?
The details you need to sign in will be ones you used when originally completing your quote on Confused.com (email address and password). If you have forgotten your password then you can reset it here.

What if I haven’t got a Nectar card, but still want to claim points?
If you haven’t got a Nectar card, but would like to start collecting points you can register for a card here and get your Nectar card number straight away.
If you would like to put the points on someone else’s card, you must make sure the person who purchased the policy fills in the claim form with their details, otherwise we won’t be able to validate that the insurance policy has been bought through Confused.com and therefore will be unable to issue points.

When will I get my points?
We have to wait for your insurer to confirm your purchase is through Confused.com, so as soon as that happens we will be able to issue your points.
The amount of time it takes for an insurance provider to get back to us varies. It could take up to:
- 90 days if claiming for car, home, motorcycle, van, pet or income protection insurance
- 120 days if claiming for life insurance
If, 90 or 120 days after claiming you have not received your points, please get in touch with us and we will look into it for you. Please note: we are unable to investigate until the respective period has passed since you bought your policy.

I’ve not received a confirmation email after submitting a claim form?
Once you have submitted your claim form you should receive an automated email to acknowledge this. If you haven’t received anything, please check your “junk mail” folder to make sure nothing has slipped through the net. To stop this from happening you could add Confused@email.confused.com to your address book to make sure you receive our emails to your inbox.
If, 90 days after submitting your claim form you have not received your points, please get in touch with us and we will look into it for you. Please note: we are unable to investigate until 90 days have passed since you bought your policy.

Will the promotion increase my insurance premium?
Definitely not. The price you pay for your insurance is determined by each insurer and we aren’t charging you for points in any way- we just want to reward all customers for buying through us.

How will I know when I've received my points?
To check if your points have been credited, you can view your Nectar statement by logging into your account at www.nectar.com. Alternatively, you can contact Nectar by telephone or email and they can check this for you.
