I’ve completed my energy switch. When can I expect the cashback I was promised?
If you completed your switch application more than 16 weeks ago, you should by now be eligible for your cashback. Once the 16 weeks have passed, feel free to email us and we’ll check when you should be able to expect it.

I’ve completed my switch application. How long will it be before I switch suppliers?
Firstly, when you’re switching suppliers there won’t be a break in your service. The process happens automatically, and the only change you should notice is in your bills.
After you’ve completed the switch application, you’ll receive an email from Confused.com. This confirms the supplier you’ve chosen to switch to, their contact details and opening hours, and your cooling-off period. During this time, you can change your mind without any fear of fees or charges.
Within the next 7-14 working days, you should then hear from the new supplier, usually by phone. If you’re unreachable, they’ll likely send you a letter. If they don’t hear from you, you’ll still transfer suppliers after your cooling-off period is complete – so you really only need to contact them if you want to cancel your switch.
The supplier may then also get in touch with you during the switch process if they have any enquiries about any of your details. You’ll also receive a confirmation letter that the switch is going ahead which also confirms your payment method, which would be what you originally entered when filling the form in on Confused.com. The letter will also include your anticipated supply start date, and ask for a meter reading so that they can close your account with your previous supplier and open your new one.
If at any time during the switch process you’re unsure or you want more specific dates and timelines, then you can contact your new supplier directly using the details supplied in the original email sent from us after your application; they should be able to answer any questions you might have.

How do I cancel my switch?
As we only facilitate the switch application, we're not able to cancel a switch on your behalf. You usually have between 7 and 14 days 'cooling-off' period to cancel your switch with no penalty - all you need to do is contact the new supplier and they should be able to do it for you. Even if it's past this time, though, it's still worth asking the new supplier if you decide you do want to cancel.
