Energy efficiency grants – Do you qualify?

several rolls of household insulationWant to reduce your energy bills? Who doesn’t? Well, one of the best ways to slash energy bills is to insulate one’s house properly. And what you might not know however is that energy efficiency grants are available to help out with homes in the UK – with the aim of reducing carbon emissions.

The government has told Britain’s energy suppliers that billions of pounds worth of grants should be made available to those who need help in properly insulating their houses. The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) offers free insulation to low-income households, and anybody else can apply to get financial assistance.

So far the £3billion initiative has helped around five million households to improve their energy efficiency, and their heating bills have been reduced accordingly.

And it’s not just insulation. Grants are also available for things like draught proofing, heating in general, appliances, energy-saving bulbs and so on.

If you’d like to find out whether grants are available for your property, visit the Energy Saving Trust’s grants and offers page.

And of course another excellent way of reducing your household’s fuel bills is to make sure you’re with the right supplier, and that you’re on the right tariff. You can check this with the greatest of ease by comparing prices here at Confused.com. So why not see what kind of savings you can make for your household today.
