It seemed to be coming for an age, but D-Day is finally upon us. ‘D’, of course, stands for digital, and by the end of this month, Wales will have completed the switchover to become the UK’s first digital nation.
If you live in Cardiff, Newport or south east Wales, you will have already waved goodbye to tired old analogue this week, and the final stages of the switchover will be completed on 31 March, when the country’s Wenvoe transmitter is turned off for good.

With huge storms tearing through Europe over the last week, the Environment Agency has put a number of areas in the UK on flood alert.
France, Spain and Portugal have already been hit by the adverse conditions, with winds reported to have reached as high as 87 miles per hour, killing at least 50 people. While Britain escaped those, 50 to 75mm of rain fell on the South East in the last week – with more heavy rain expected.
