Land Rover has started 2013 in the same manner as it ended 2012, with a top prize for its latest Range Rover. The model, now in its fourth generation, has received the accolade of Luxury Car of the Year by What Car?

Commenting on the prize at a special reception in the capital, the magazine's chief editor Chas Hallett said: "The Range Rover combines all the merits of a 4x4 with those of the finest luxury limos in the world."

In particular, he praised the generous windows and relaxing driver's seat which provide a pleasurable driving experience. In addition, he said that the car's security features including its wheel-drive system offer extra reassurance and a tranquil ride.

Receiving the title, John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director, said: "This award rewards everyone at Land Rover who has helped make the fourth generation Range Rover a landmark vehicle"

He said that the firm has endeavoured to incorporate premium features of the best quality, while continuing to offer outstanding four-by-four engineering.

The latest Range Rover has a premium feel in its sleek, contemporary design, luxurious interior and top quality accessories.

The modern fittings use advanced technology to generate a calming experience even in extreme weather. Among its core features are a four-zone temperature control facility, seats fitted with massagers, wireless connectivity for digital devices and high-tech LED lights.

The car's cutting edge chassis and driver backup features provide exceptional 'drivability' and security as well as relaxation.

This latest model improves on its predecessors with a two-channel Dynamic Response system and Adaptive Dynamics with adaptable damping.

The car has also been rated as Luxury Car of the Year by Top Gear magazine and the top 4x4 in the Top 100 cars ranking by the Sunday Times.
