The UK's rate of car production rose further last month, according to the latest statistics.
Figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that 8.5 per cent more cars were made in November than in the same period of 2010. In total, 136,111 cars were produced during the four-week period.
Among its other findings, the SMMT said that commercial vehicle production went up by 2.2 per cent in November. This increase took the total number of vehicles up to 11,380.
Paul Everitt, chief executive of the SMMT, said the country's manufacturing recovery will be supported by its commitments to vehicle and engine production.
He stated: "Despite the challenges in the eurozone, the UK motor industry expects further growth in 2012.
"Global vehicle manufacturers have committed more than £4 billion of investment into the UK motor industry, boosting confidence in the sector and securing high-value jobs for the long term."
