Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care has been thrown out of the England training squad for this year's Six Nations ruby tournament after being charged with drink-driving.
Care has apologised to fans, his club, national management and his team mates and has said that he will admit the charge when it comes to court.
It is the second time in less than a month that the 25-year-old has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. He was hit with a fine for being caught being drunk and disorderly before Christmas.
The most recent incident happened when he was at services on the M3 shortly after midnight on January 1.
He issued a statement saying: "I do understand the need for England players to be role models in the game and have tried to live up to that at all times, but have made a couple of stupid decisions in the past weeks.
"I can only hope for the chance in the future to prove those decisions were the exception, not the rule.
"I am devastated because my actions have let so many people down."
