Drivers are being offered a new type of credit card, which is designed to help them manage their petrol spending.
According to AA Financial Services, diesel users will also be able to make use of the new AA Reward Plus Visa card, which provides motorists with cashback of 3 per cent when they purchase fuel.
The firm added that for all other kinds of purchase, cashback of 0.5 per cent will be made available to users of the product.
For card purchases, a variable representative APR of 19.9 per cent will apply.
AA Financial Services director Mark Huggins highlighted how the card works over the course of a year.
He commented: "The card delivers 3 per cent back on fuel up to £2,000 spend per year - that's the equivalent of an average 60 fill-up. But once that ceiling is reached, the card continues to earn points at the standard 0.5 per cent rate that applies to all purchases.
"As soon as the first anniversary of taking out the card is reached, the fuel earning rate returns to 3 per cent."
