Although the first Lotus car was built in 1948, the company wasn't officially formed until 4 years later.
The Lotus Esprit was driven several times by James Bond, played by Roger Moore, in the 1970’s and 1980’s. It was used most famously in the film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ when it converted into a submarine and back again.
The Lotus Evora S was entered in the 2011 Gumball 3000 Rally, which covered eight countries in eight days, and was driven by British actor Tamer Hassan and co-driver Costa Mandylor.
