Citroën C1 insurance

Introduced in 2005, the Citroën C1 is a small stylish city car ideal for young drivers or families looking for an affordable, practical car. The various available models come with the option of 3 or 5-doors, are spacious, stylish, and all can achieve around 61 mpg.

Engine options for the Citroen C1 range from 1.0 to 1.4 litres which, combined with such a lightweight body makes the C1 economical on both fuel and insurance. With low emission levels, all C1 models can be found in tax bands A or B, and the C1 falls into very low ABI insurance groups of between 2 and 4. This makes the C1 amongst the cheapest cars available today to keep on the road, and a great option for new our young drivers.

Citroen C1 - facts

  • Production - 2005-present
  • Assembly - Kolín, Czech Republic
  • Class - City car

Designed with practicality and economy in mind, the C1 is a car built for the young driver, though many other drivers find it perfect for their needs due to its low purchase and running cost. The C1 is available with three levels of trim known as VT, VTR, and VTR+.

Developed as part of a joint-venture between PSA Peugeot Citroén and Toyota, the C1 is built on the same model as, and has many similarities to both the Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 107. All built for economy and practicality, these cars now hold a dominant share in the UK's young driver market.
