New report shows men more likely to marry for money
New figures published today by insurance provider Scottish Widows has highlighted that almost twice as many men than women would now be prepared to marry someone for their money and a luxurious lifestyle.
Nearly 20% of men harboured gold-digging fantasies. In stark contrast, only 11% of women questioned said they would consider marrying for money.
The study also found that gold-diggers were more than likely to be from a younger age group. 19% of those under 24 said they would put money before love when marrying someone.
A spokesman for the company commented that the tide of gold-digging was turning and more men were willing to be financially dependant on their partner.
