Brits going abroad to boost their careers
A new report out today by NatWest shows that a growing number of British workers are now spending more time overseas in order to earn more money and obtain further career opportunities.
The NatWest Quality of Life report compiled in conjunction with the Centre of Future Studies, researched UK expatriates around the globe. They found that in 2006, more than 200,000 expats left the UK. Of those two thirds left the UK to work abroad.
The study showed that the archetypal expat is no longer a retiree as 57% of those leaving the UK has a professional career; is typically aged 43; and earns an average salary of £67,000.
